tempera on objects and cardboard

This project was inspired by Alexa Meade’s work. Keeping in line with my interest in how spaces create distinct moods, I created a cozy and comforting atmosphere with five different objects which I painted using a warm color palette. Meade’s technique purposefully emphasizes shadows and gradients, to make three dimensional things appear two dimensional like a painting. While the warm colors were used to emphasize the intimacy of the scene, the cold color used for the background serves to emphasize the objects.
